Music Based Team Building and Trust Building

RhythmTeam: Transformative Team Building

Lasting bonds can emerge within your team IF you connect them using something meaningful and energizing.

Social psychology research points to synchronous music making as a highly potent way to develop “pro group” qualities within your group –including improved rapport, compassion, trust, increasing willingness to be helpful, and deeper feeling of affiliation.

During RHYTHM TEAM they’ll get all of that by engaging in an urgency-filled program using beginner friendly rhythmic music making.

After a short period of trust building and preparation, your team members will be tasked with on-the-spot creative thinking, designing, and executing their own music - all within minutes!

As we go through the process together, they will see, hear, and feel how the quality of their creation is determined –in large part –by each person’s willingness to be “ALL-IN” during the process.

You might be surprised how a seemingly disconnected room of individuals staring at their smartphones become a highly engaged, creative and self-facilitating team.

The RHYTHM TEAM process does push the edge of some people’s comfort zones. But don’t worry, presenter Jim Donovan will expertly engineer an atmosphere of safety so that even your most introverted members get involved.

Donovan has presented nearly 3000 events since 1999 throughout the US and Europe –including with companies including Highmark, Del Monte, Johnson & Johnson, EQT, Comcast, Celgene, Bayer, University of Florida, University of Pittsburgh, University Of Maryland, Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University.

By the end of the experience, your team members will have the opportunity to:

1. Recognize how their personal attitude and willingness affects everything they create.

2. Identify how “mistakes” can equal new learning –and a better overall creation.

3. Describe how shifting attitude in your organization’s culture could improve effectiveness.

4. Engage with their team-mates in a way that humanizes everyone.
